Intro

Set a striking piece on your table with this stainless steel spice box, its perforated dome lifting off a hexagonal base to reveal the compartment for besamim. A sculpted brass branch winds up the stand, carrying pomegranates and leaves toward a small bird perched at the top. The pomegranate stands for blessing and abundance, a fitting note as one week closes and the next begins. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used for Havdalah, the spice box holds fragrant besamim within its perforated dome. Cast in stainless steel and paired with a sculpted brass branch, the box stands about 6.5 inches tall on a pierced hexagonal base. The dome lifts free of the box for filling, and the branch's leaves and pomegranates are worked in brass against the polished steel.

Gift Ideas

A striking centerpiece, this spice box suits a wedding, engagement, or housewarming gift for anyone furnishing a Jewish home. It also fits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, marking the occasion with a piece meant for weekly use. Its sculptural stand and warm brass tones make it a gift that stands out among Havdalah sets.

Care Instructions

Wipe the stainless steel and brass with a soft, dry cloth to keep their finish bright. Avoid abrasive cleaners or soaking the piece, and dry it fully after any contact with water.
