Intro

Bring color to the washing station with a netilat yedayim cup covered in Armenian pomegranates and flowers. Red carnations, golden blooms and blue pomegranates wind around the cup, with the words netilat yedayim set at the center. The pomegranate stands for blessing and abundance, and the Armenian style gives the garden a rich, ceramic feel. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made of metal with a polished finish, the cup carries Yair Emanuel's hand painted design on its straight sides. It measures 5.5 inches long, 3.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches tall, and weighs about 10 ounces. Two curved handles on either side make it easy to hold and to pour from, one hand at a time. The wide opening fills quickly and the straight walls keep the artwork unbroken all the way around.

Gift Ideas

The cup makes a fitting gift for a wedding or engagement, where it gives a new home a place to begin. It suits a housewarming just as well, or a bar or bat mitzvah and an anniversary. Bright and lasting, it is also a good choice for anyone building a Jewish home.

Care Instructions

Rinse the cup with warm water and dry it with a soft cloth after use. Wash by hand only and keep it away from abrasive cleaners and scouring pads so the artwork stays vivid.
