Intro

The pewter toned frame holds a beaded panel of swirling metallic thread and pearl accents, bordered by a fluted edge at each end. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, the case holds the scroll that carries the Shema, placed on the doorpost of a Jewish home. The scroll itself is not included.

Build and Use

Cast in metal and finished in a pewter tone, the case is set with pearl beads and gold toned wire worked into a swirling filigree pattern down the front panel. It measures about 7 inches long, 1.5 inches wide, and 1 inch deep, sized to hold a 4.7 inch scroll. The open ends allow the case to be mounted directly onto the doorpost.
