Intro

Mark your doorway with a mezuzah case that pairs a sunny textured gold body with a raised brown rectangle bearing the letter Shin. The mezuzah holds the klaf, the small parchment scroll placed inside, and is affixed to the doorposts of a Jewish home. The Shin, rendered here in dimensional metal against the brown panel, stands for one of God's names and marks the case as unmistakably a mezuzah. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose Judaica has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Formed from sanded metal with a granular gold finish, the case holds a pop-out brown rectangle where the Shin sits raised and separate from the body. It measures 5.5 by 0.5 inches and takes a scroll up to about 4.7 inches long, sold separately. The elongated form and open back suit mounting directly to a doorframe.

Gift Ideas

A mezuzah case suits nearly every Jewish milestone: a housewarming for a new home, a wedding, a bar or bat mitzvah, or moving into a first apartment. Its warm gold and brown palette works well for a couple or a family, and it reads as a thoughtful gift even without a specific occasion in mind. Pair it with a kosher scroll for a complete gift.

Care Instructions

Wipe the case with a soft, dry cloth to keep the textured finish free of dust. Avoid water and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the metal surface and the raised Shin detail.
