Intro

Bring a playful blessing to a child's room or a favorite wall with this small hamsa, alive with fairies, flowers and stars. Two girls drift across a sky of clouds and a golden moon, one holding a star, the other reaching for a heart. The hamsa is a traditional emblem of protection and good fortune, here told in a lighter, storybook voice. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from metal in the shape of a hamsa, the piece measures 4" x 3" and weighs just under an ounce. Yair Emanuel's hand painted design is printed across the surface and sealed under a glossy enamel lacquer. A hole at the top lets it hang from a single nail or hook. Its small size suits a nursery wall, a bedroom shelf or a cluster of other wall pieces.

Gift Ideas

The fairies make it a sweet gift for a new baby or a baby naming. It also suits a bat mitzvah, a child's birthday or a housewarming for a family with young children. Small and light, it tucks easily into a card or a gift box. It is a thoughtful way to send a blessing to a little girl's room.

Care Instructions

Wipe the hamsa with a soft, dry cloth to keep the lacquer glossy. Avoid water, abrasive cleaners and prolonged direct sun so the colors stay bright. Hang it indoors on a dry wall.
