Intro

Welcome peace into your home with a colorful hamsa that greets every visitor. Two birds perch on a branch among butterflies and flowers, with the word Shalom set in Hebrew, English and Arabic below. The hamsa is a protective symbol, and shalom stands for peace and wholeness. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from lightweight metal with an open cutwork pattern, the hamsa measures 9" x 7" and weighs just over 5 ounces. Yair Emanuel's hand painted design is printed onto the piece and sealed under a glossy enamel lacquer, so the colors stay vivid. It hangs on a wall near an entryway, in a kitchen, or in a child's room.

Gift Ideas

A hamsa with a message of peace is a natural housewarming gift for friends settling into a new home. It suits a wedding or engagement just as well, or an anniversary for a couple who love color. The birds and flowers also make it a cheerful choice for a baby's room or a bar or bat mitzvah gift.

Care Instructions

Dust the hamsa gently with a soft, dry cloth. If needed, wipe with a slightly damp cloth and dry right away. Keep it away from harsh cleaners and constant moisture so the lacquer stays bright.
