Intro

Bring a blessing to your doorway or living room with a Jerusalem hamsa, its domes, palms and rainbow set under a bright sun. The Hebrew inscription reads Birkat Habayit, a prayer that the home be a place of peace, love and success. The hamsa itself is a long-loved symbol of protection, and the Jerusalem skyline adds heritage and connection. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from metal in the shape of a hand and finished in enamel lacquer, the hamsa carries Yair Emanuel's hand painted design reproduced across its surface. It measures 6.5 by 5 inches, a medium size that suits an entryway, a hallway or a bedroom wall. The Hebrew home blessing sits in a central panel framed by the city's rooftops, with open cutouts between the domes.

Gift Ideas

A home blessing makes a natural housewarming gift, whether for a first apartment or a new house. It suits a wedding or engagement for a couple building a Jewish home, and an anniversary or a bar or bat mitzvah as well. The Jerusalem scene also makes it a warm keepsake for anyone who loves the city.

Care Instructions

Wipe the hamsa gently with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from water, abrasive cleaners and harsh sunlight so the enamel lacquer and colors stay vivid.
