Intro
Set a striking piece at the center of your Shabbat or holiday table with this Kiddush cup and tray, cut all over in dense, lace-like metal cutout scrollwork. The words of Borei Pri Hagafen, the blessing over wine, are worked directly into the pattern around the cup. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose Judaica has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Formed from stainless steel, the cup and its matching tray are cut through in an intricate metal cutout pattern that lets light pass through the walls. The cup stands 4 inches tall with a 2.5 inch diameter and holds about 9 oz, while the tray spans 6 inches across to catch the cup at its base. The hammered rim and base add texture against the fine cutout body.
Gift Ideas
The cup and tray make a fitting wedding or engagement gift, especially for a couple setting up their own Shabbat table. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah, an anniversary, or a housewarming for a new Jewish home. Its detailed metalwork gives it a formal, lasting quality that carries well beyond a single occasion.
Care Instructions
Hand wash the cup and tray with a soft cloth and mild soap, then dry fully to keep the stainless steel bright. Avoid abrasive scrubbers, which can dull the fine cutout detail.
