Intro

Bring a meaningful centerpiece to your Shabbat table with this challah knife, its handle cut in an intricate pomegranate design over rich wood. The pomegranate motif, long associated with blessing and abundance, wraps the handle in a lattice of metal cutout work. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used to cut the challah at the start of the Shabbat and holiday meal, the knife pairs a stainless steel serrated blade with a handle built from layered metal cutout over wood. The handle measures 13.5 inches by 1 inch, sized to sit comfortably in hand. The blade holds a clean edge suited to slicing bread at the table.

Gift Ideas

The knife makes a fitting gift for a wedding, housewarming, or bar or bat mitzvah, and suits anyone setting up a Jewish home. Its detailed pomegranate handle also works well as an engagement or anniversary gift. The design gives it lasting appeal beyond any single occasion.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the blade and handle, then dry thoroughly to keep the steel from spotting. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the cutout metalwork so the finish stays sharp and bright.
