Intro

Bring a blessing to the entrance of your home with a large hamsa framed in leafy pomegranate branches. The English verse asks for a place where peace abides, love grows and contentment is a success. The pomegranates carry their own meaning of blessing and abundance, in red, coral and violet fruit among green leaves. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has been part of Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from metal in the shape of an open-work hamsa, the piece is finished in enamel lacquer for a smooth, glossy surface. It measures approximately 9 by 7 inches and weighs about 0.4 pounds, light enough to hang on a single nail. Yair Emanuel's hand painted design is reproduced onto the piece, so the artwork stays crisp and consistent from one hamsa to the next. The Home Blessing sits in the center panel in clear English lettering, readable from across the room.

Gift Ideas

A blessing for the home makes a natural housewarming gift, whether for a first apartment or a new house. It suits a wedding or engagement for a couple building a Jewish home, and an anniversary for one settled in theirs. The English text makes it an easy choice for a bar or bat mitzvah gift or for family and friends who may not read Hebrew.

Care Instructions

Dust the hamsa with a soft, dry cloth. If it needs more, wipe gently with a barely damp cloth and dry it right away. Keep it out of damp spaces and away from abrasive cleaners so the enamel lacquer stays bright.
