Intro

Keep Shabbat wherever you travel with a compact hand painted box holding a pair of candlesticks. Rendered in deep blue with branches of red pomegranates and green leaves, the box opens to reveal the candlesticks tucked neatly inside. The pomegranate has long stood for blessing and abundance, a fitting motif for a piece that travels with you. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Carried for Shabbat away from home, the box opens to release a pair of candlesticks that fold flat when not in use. Hand painted wood forms the box itself, with the pomegranate branches applied by hand across all sides. The closed box measures 4 x 2 x 1.5 inches, small enough to fit inside a suitcase or overnight bag. It arrives packaged at 4.7 x 2 x 1.4 inches, ready to gift or pack.

Gift Ideas

Compact and personal, this box suits a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah gift for someone often on the move. It also fits a housewarming or anniversary gift for a couple building a Jewish home. The size makes it a natural travel companion gift for students, soldiers, or frequent flyers keeping Shabbat away from home.

Care Instructions

Wipe the box clean with a soft, dry cloth, avoiding water or abrasive cleaners that could dull the paint. Store it closed when not carrying candlesticks to keep the hinges and painted surface protected.
