Intro

Keep Shabbat close wherever you travel with this hand painted wood box holding a pair of travel candlesticks. The lid and sides carry a colorful view of Jerusalem's walls and buildings, framing the words Shabbat Shalom across the top. Jerusalem imagery calls back to heritage and connection, a fitting theme for a piece made to accompany the start of Shabbat away from home. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used to carry a pair of Shabbat candles for lighting away from home, the box is crafted from wood and hand painted with Jerusalem scenes on every side. It measures 4 x 2 x 1.5 inches, compact enough to pack in a bag or suitcase. The lid lifts open to store the travel candlesticks securely inside.

Gift Ideas

Its small size and Shabbat theme make this box a natural gift for a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah. It also suits someone furnishing a new home, or a housewarming gift for a couple who travels often. The Jerusalem design gives it lasting appeal well beyond the occasion it's given for.

Care Instructions

Wipe the box gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the painted surface clean. Avoid water and abrasive cleaners, which can dull or damage the hand painted finish.
