Intro
Bring the colors of Jerusalem to your havdalah ceremony with a small hand painted wood spice box. Domes, rooftops and city walls wrap around the box in warm yellows, oranges and blues. Jerusalem stands for heritage and connection, and the scene carries that sense into the home. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Held out at the close of Shabbat, the box releases the scent of besamim through the six small openings in its blue lid. Crafted from hand painted wood, it measures approximately 2 x 2 x 1 inches and weighs about 0.04 kg. The compact size fits easily in one hand and stores neatly with the rest of the havdalah set.
Gift Ideas
Colorful and compact, the spice box makes a natural wedding, engagement or housewarming gift. It suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary just as well, or a gift for a couple building a Jewish home. Paired with a havdalah candle, it rounds out a thoughtful set.
Care Instructions
Wipe the box with a soft, dry cloth and keep it away from water so the paint stays vivid. Store it in a dry place, and refresh the besamim as the scent fades.
