Intro

Add color to your table with a pair of hand painted wood salt and pepper shakers, each side showing a deer resting among leaves and pomegranates. The pomegranate touches carry their familiar meaning of blessing and abundance, set against a rainbow border that frames the scene. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has filled Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made of hand painted wood, each shaker stands about 1.5 by 1.5 by 4 inches, sized to sit easily beside the everyday table setting. The deer and foliage are painted directly onto the wood surface, giving each piece its own texture and detail. The pair holds standard salt and pepper for daily use.

Gift Ideas

Their bright detail and small size make these shakers a fitting wedding or housewarming gift, especially for someone furnishing a first table. They also suit a bar or bat mitzvah, an engagement, or an anniversary gift. Anyone drawn to colorful Judaica for the kitchen will find them a welcome addition.

Care Instructions

Wipe the shakers clean with a soft, dry cloth rather than washing them, since water can dull the painted wood. Keep them away from direct moisture and harsh cleaners to preserve the color.
