Intro

Mark your doorway with a hand painted mezuzah case showing the gates and towers of Jerusalem in warm, layered color. Domes, stone walls, and a windmill rise across the case, rendered in the bright palette Yair Emanuel is known for. Jerusalem imagery calls to mind heritage and connection, fitting for the case that holds a home's mezuzah scroll. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Carved from wood and hand painted with Jerusalem scenes, the case measures about 6 inches long, 1 inch wide, and 0.5 inches deep. It holds a 4.7 inch scroll, sold separately, with an opening at the back for placement and an eyelet at the top for mounting. The compact size suits a doorpost of most any room.

Gift Ideas

The Jerusalem gate design suits a housewarming gift for a new home, and it works just as well for a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah. It carries meaning for anyone marking a milestone tied to a Jewish home. Its size and color make it a fitting gift for many occasions beyond these too.

Care Instructions

Wipe the wood case clean with a soft, dry cloth. Keep it away from water and harsh cleaners so the painted design stays bright over time.
