Intro

Add color to your doorpost with a hand painted wood mezuzah case, its surface covered in fluttering butterflies over a bright blue ground. Butterflies bring a sense of renewal and lightness, a fitting image for the case that marks a home's threshold. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades. A mezuzah case holds the scroll inscribed with the Shema, affixed to the doorpost of a Jewish home.

Build and Use

Hand painted on wood, the case stands 5 inches tall and takes a 4 inch scroll, sold separately. The butterfly design covers the front and sides in layered color, with a small hole at top and bottom for mounting. Light and compact, the case suits any doorway in the home.

Gift Ideas

Cheerful and easy to place, this case makes a natural housewarming gift for a new home or apartment. It suits a wedding, an engagement, or a bar or bat mitzvah just as well, and works nicely for anyone setting up a Jewish home for the first time. The bright design also makes it a welcome gift outside those occasions.

Care Instructions

Wipe the case gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the paint bright. Avoid water and abrasive cleaners, which can dull or damage the hand painted finish.
