Intro

Mark your doorway with a hand painted mezuzah case, its panels filled with golden birds and ripe pomegranates in warm blues and reds. The pomegranate stands for blessing and abundance, while the birds add a touch of movement to the design. The case holds the parchment scroll that is placed inside by the household, though the scroll itself is not included. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Hand painted on wood, the case measures 5 inches long and takes a 4 inch scroll. The artwork is applied directly to the wood surface, giving each panel of birds and pomegranates a slightly individual hand finished look. A small hole at the back allows the case to be mounted to a doorframe.

Gift Ideas

A mezuzah case suits a housewarming above nearly any other gift, marking the start of a new home. It also fits naturally as a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah gift, or a gift for a couple setting up a Jewish home together. Its bright colors and motif make it a welcome choice for a birthday or a simple gesture of thoughtfulness too.

Care Instructions

Wipe the wood case gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the paint bright. Keep it away from direct water or harsh cleaners, which can dull the hand painted finish.
