Intro

Bring a piece of Jerusalem to your Shabbat table with this hand painted Kiddush cup, its blue background layered with the domes, towers, and stone walls of the old city. Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection, fitting for the cup lifted each week over wine. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has filled Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Carved from wood and hand painted by skilled artisans, the cup is sealed in a glossy lacquer finish that protects the color and gives it depth. The cup measures 2.5 by 5.5 inches and holds approximately 2 ounces, and it comes with a matching wooden plate 5 inches in diameter carrying the same Jerusalem design. The pair rests together for use at the Shabbat table.

Gift Ideas

The Jerusalem cup and plate set makes a fitting gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, especially for someone furnishing a Jewish home. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, where a piece connected to Jerusalem carries extra meaning. Its color and craftsmanship make it a welcome gift well beyond those occasions too.

Care Instructions

Wipe the cup and plate clean with a soft, dry cloth rather than soaking them in water. Keep them away from abrasive cleaners and prolonged moisture so the lacquer finish and painted colors stay bright.
