Intro
Set an elegant centerpiece at your table with this large hand painted Kiddush cup and matching plate. The wood is painted with a vivid Jerusalem cityscape and inscribed with the name Eliyahu, honoring the presence traditionally welcomed at the Passover Seder and other festive meals. The Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection wherever the cup is used. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Turned from wood and finished with hand painted color under a protective lacquer, the cup holds 80 ml, the larger of two sizes made in this design. The cup measures about 2.5 by 5.5 inches, and the matching plate spans 5 inches across to catch drips and complete the set. Artisans apply the painted detail by hand, giving each piece its own texture and shading.
Gift Ideas
The set makes a striking gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, and suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary equally well. Its size and detail give it presence as a Passover or holiday table gift, particularly for someone building a Jewish home. The Jerusalem design also travels well as a gift for family abroad or a milestone celebration.
Care Instructions
Wipe the cup and plate clean with a soft, dry or slightly damp cloth rather than soaking them. Keep both pieces away from dishwashers and abrasive cleaners so the lacquer and painted finish stay bright.
