Intro

Bring color and meaning to your Shabbat table with this hand painted Kiddush cup and matching plate. The cup is wrapped in the Seven Species, the fruits and grains long tied to the land of Israel, rendered in warm reds, golds, and greens against a deep blue ground. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has filled Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used for Kiddush on Shabbat and holidays, the cup and its plate are carved from wood and hand painted by skilled artisans, finished in a protective lacquer that keeps the colors vivid. This is the large size, standing 5.5 inches tall with a 2.5 inch base, and holding approximately 80 ml. The matching plate measures 5 inches across, and the same design is also offered in a smaller 60 ml cup.

Gift Ideas

The set makes a fitting gift for a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah, and suits a couple furnishing a new Jewish home just as well. Its size and detail also make it a strong choice for an anniversary or a milestone birthday. Anyone who keeps Shabbat will find a place for it at the table.

Care Instructions

Wipe the cup and plate clean with a soft, dry cloth rather than soaking them, since the lacquer finish is best kept away from prolonged water exposure. Avoid abrasive cleaners so the hand painted colors stay bright over time.
