Intro

Bring warmth to your Shabbat and holiday table with this hand painted Kiddush cup and matching plate, its deer resting beneath colorful arcs of orange, teal, and violet. The pair of deer stand near a flowering branch, a scene of gentle companionship. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from wood and hand painted with a lacquer finish, the cup and plate are the large size in this design, holding 80 ml. The cup stands about 5.5 inches tall with a 2.5 inch diameter, and the matching plate measures 5 inches across. The plate sits beneath the cup as part of the set, gilded gold along the cup's rim.

Gift Ideas

The set makes a fitting gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, and suits a bar or bat mitzvah just as well. Its warm colors and detailed painting also make it a thoughtful anniversary gift or a piece for someone furnishing a Jewish home. The large size gives it a presence that carries well on any gift table.

Care Instructions

Wipe the cup and plate clean with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid soaking them in water since the piece is wood with a painted lacquer finish. Keep them away from harsh detergents and prolonged sun exposure to preserve the color.
