Intro

Bring a touch of color and protection to any wall with this hand painted wood hamsa. Perched birds trail across curling floral branches on a turquoise ground, rendered in warm pinks, oranges, and greens. The hamsa itself is a longstanding symbol of protection and good fortune, hung in homes to watch over those inside. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has filled Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from wood and hand painted by skilled artisans, the hamsa measures 6 by 3.5 inches. A cord threaded through the top, finished with a small ceramic bead, lets it hang from a nail or hook on any wall. Its compact size suits an entryway, a child's room, or a quiet corner of the home.

Gift Ideas

Colorful and meaningful, this hamsa makes a natural housewarming gift for someone settling into a new home. It also suits a wedding, an engagement, or a bar or bat mitzvah, and travels well as a gift for someone far from home who could use a bit of protection nearby. Its bright palette makes it a welcome pick even outside those occasions.

Care Instructions

Dust the hamsa gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the paint bright. Keep it away from direct sun and damp areas so the wood and colors hold up over time.
