Intro

Bring color to your Shabbat table with a challah knife and stand painted with scenes of Jerusalem. The wood handle and matching stand are hand painted with domes, arches, and rooftops rendered in bright, layered color. Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection, fitting for the table where the week begins. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used for slicing the challah at the Shabbat table, the knife pairs a stainless steel blade with a hand painted wood handle. The matching stand is hand painted to complete the set and keeps the blade off the table between uses. The knife measures 12.5 by 1.5 inches, sized for a standard loaf.

Gift Ideas

Bright and lasting, this knife and stand set makes a natural wedding, engagement, or housewarming gift. It suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary just as well, or a gift for someone setting up a Jewish home. The Jerusalem design gives it appeal even as a standalone gift outside these occasions.

Care Instructions

Wipe the wood handle and stand clean with a dry or lightly damp cloth, avoiding soaking. Hand wash the blade separately and dry it fully to prevent rust, and keep the painted surfaces away from harsh cleaners.
