Intro

Bring a sculptural touch to your Shabbat table with this laser cut tree, its branches filled with hand painted birds and pomegranates in shifting color. Rising from a solid painted base, the piece holds two tea lights for the Shabbat candles. Pomegranates carry their familiar meaning of blessing and abundance, while birds nested among the branches add life and movement to the tree. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut as one continuous laser cut metal panel, the sculpture rises from a solid painted block base rather than standing as a pair of separate candlesticks. Each flower and bird is hand painted, so the brushwork varies subtly across the piece. It measures 8.5 x 5 x 2.5 inches, and two wide, shallow wells set into the base hold tea lights rather than taper candles.

Gift Ideas

Its sculptural form and bright color make this piece a natural choice for a wedding, housewarming, or engagement gift. It suits a bar or bat mitzvah or anniversary just as well, or anyone furnishing a new Jewish home. The tree motif gives it lasting appeal even as a standalone decorative gift.

Care Instructions

Wipe the metal clean with a soft, dry cloth, and avoid abrasive cleaners that could dull the painted finish. Keep it away from moisture to preserve the color over time.
