Intro

Bring a touch of protection and color into your home with this freestanding hamsa. Cut from metal, the piece is hand painted with pomegranate branches winding across the open palm, rendered in deep reds and greens against a blue outlined frame. The pomegranate carries a long association with blessing and abundance, fitting well within the hamsa's own role as a symbol of protection. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from metal and hand painted, the hamsa stands on its own weighted base, so it needs no wall mounting or hanging hardware. It measures approximately 9 inches by 7 inches by 2 inches, sized for a shelf, mantel, or entryway table. The open palm form is pierced through with painted branches, giving the piece depth and light passing through the negative space.

Gift Ideas

Sized for a shelf or entry table, this hamsa suits a housewarming gift for someone settling into a new home. It also works well for a wedding, an engagement, or a bar or bat mitzvah, where a lasting symbol of protection feels fitting. The color and form make it a welcome gift for an anniversary too, or simply for someone who appreciates Jerusalem design in their space.

Care Instructions

Wipe the hamsa clean with a soft, dry cloth to keep the painted surface bright. Keep it away from moisture and abrasive cleaners, which can dull the enamel finish over time.
