Intro

Bring color to your Shabbat table with a pair of hand painted candlesticks, each one wrapped in a trailing pomegranate vine over deep blue enamel. The pomegranates, rendered in red and gold with a banded brass rim, carry the traditional meaning of blessing and abundance. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Lit each week for Shabbat, the candlesticks are hand painted metal, sold as a matching pair with an hourglass silhouette and a brass rim at the top and base. Each holder stands 4.7 inches (12 cm) tall and about 2 inches wide, sized to sit comfortably at the center of the table. The painted finish is worked entirely by hand, so slight variations between the pair are part of the piece.

Gift Ideas

A pair this vivid makes a natural wedding or engagement gift, and suits a bat mitzvah or a housewarming for someone furnishing their first Jewish home just as well. They work equally well marking an anniversary or any milestone worth a lasting, colorful gift. Their compact size also makes them easy to send or bring along to a celebration.

Care Instructions

Wipe the candlesticks clean with a soft, dry cloth rather than soaking them in water. Keep them away from abrasive cleaners and gently remove any dripped wax once it has cooled, so the hand painted finish stays bright.
