Intro
Bring protection and blessing into your home with this small glass hamsa, hand painted in deep purples and warm golds around a central menorah. The hand shape, long carried as a symbol of protection, is layered here with a menorah, a hamsa eye, and floral detail rendered in fine enamel work. Together the motifs speak to light, guardianship, and continuity in the Jewish home. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Cut from glass and hand painted by skilled artisans, the hamsa measures 4 by 3 inches and hangs from a cord threaded through the top. Layered color fills the piece from the deep purple crown down through gold at the base, with the design visible on both sides of the glass. Lightweight and ready to hang, it suits a wall, window, or doorway in any room.
Gift Ideas
Compact and meaningful, this hamsa makes a natural housewarming gift for a new home or apartment. It suits a wedding or engagement gift as well, and works nicely for a bar or bat mitzvah or a couple setting up a Jewish household. Its small size makes it easy to bring along or send as a lasting keepsake for any occasion.
Care Instructions
Wipe the glass gently with a soft, dry cloth to keep the painted surface clear. Avoid water and abrasive cleaners, which can wear the enamel, and keep the piece away from direct, prolonged sunlight to preserve its color.
