Intro

Add a meaningful ritual piece to your table with this mayim achronim cup and basin, hammered by hand across the metal surface. A pomegranate, cast in brass, climbs a branch along the handle, a small mark of blessing and abundance. Mayim achronim is poured over the fingers before Grace after Meals, and the basin catches the water so the cup stays set apart for its purpose. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish tables for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used before Birkat Hamazon, the cup pours water over the fingers while the basin beneath catches the runoff. Made of stainless steel or aluminum, the piece carries a hammered texture across its surface with a brass pomegranate accent on the handle. The set measures 5.5 x 4 x 5 inches, sized for a single setting at the table, and nests together as one cohesive piece.

Gift Ideas

The mayim achronim set makes a thoughtful wedding or housewarming gift, especially for a couple furnishing their first Shabbat table. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah, an engagement, or an anniversary, marking a milestone with a piece meant for daily use. Anyone setting up a Jewish home will find it a lasting and practical addition.

Care Instructions

Wipe the metal surface clean with a soft, dry cloth after use. Avoid abrasive cleaners on the brass accent so its finish stays bright, and dry the piece fully before storing.
