Intro

Bring a touch of color to your Shabbat table with this hammered metal Kiddush cup and matching plate, wrapped in a band of painted pomegranates against a blue background. The Hebrew blessing over the wine, Borei Pri Hagafen, is inscribed just above the fruit. Pomegranates have long stood for blessing and abundance, a fitting image for a cup raised each week. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used for Kiddush on Shabbat and Yom Tov, the cup is formed from hammered metal with a polished silver tone base and rim. The pomegranate band wraps the body in enamel paint, and the matching plate carries the same design around its 5 inch diameter. The cup stands 3.5 inches tall, 2.5 inches wide, and holds approximately 195 ml.

Gift Ideas

This set makes a thoughtful gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, especially for a couple setting up their first Shabbat table. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, where a piece tied to Kiddush carries lasting meaning. The color and craftsmanship make it a welcome gift beyond these occasions too.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cup and plate gently and dry them right away to protect the finish. Avoid abrasive sponges or harsh detergents, which can dull the hammered metal and fade the painted design.
