Intro
Mark a yahrzeit with a candle holder built to carry the moment with quiet dignity. Formed in the shape of a tapered tower, the aluminum holder has the word "Yizkor," meaning "remember," cut through its surface so the flame's light spells it out. The word is used to call on memory of the departed, and lighting a candle within it is a familiar way to mark that remembrance. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish ritual objects for over two decades.
Build and Use
Hammered from aluminum, the holder has a textured surface and a pointed top that tapers to a house-like form. It stands about 5 inches tall and 2.5 inches wide, sized to hold a single standard tea light candle. The Yizkor lettering is cut fully through the metal, letting the flame's glow pass through the open letters.
Gift Ideas
Fitting for a yahrzeit, a shiva visit, or as a comforting gift for a home in mourning, the holder offers a tangible way to mark remembrance. It also suits a gift for someone furnishing a Jewish home who wants a piece ready for the day it's needed. Its quiet, sturdy design makes it appropriate to give and to keep.
Care Instructions
Wipe the aluminum holder clean with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners, which can dull the hammered finish, and let any wax cool fully before removing it.
