Intro

Bring fresh green to your Shabbat kitchen with a plata cover that dresses the hot plate and the food warming on it. Leaves in green, blue and cream layer across the cover in a collage pattern, with an embroidered Shabbat Shalom panel at the center. The leaves bring a sense of growth and renewal to the week's close. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made of fabric in a collage of green leaves, the plata cover measures 31.5 by 26 inches. That size is cut to drape over a plata and the dishes resting on it. The embroidered panel sits at the center, framed in dark green. It is ready for Shabbat use each week.

Gift Ideas

A plata cover makes a thoughtful housewarming gift for a home that keeps Shabbat. It suits a wedding or engagement, especially for a couple setting up their first Jewish home. It also works well for an anniversary or a bar or bat mitzvah family. The leaf colors give it a fresh look that fits many kitchens.

Care Instructions

Blot spills promptly with a damp cloth and let the cover air dry. Spot clean as needed rather than soaking it. Fold it gently to protect the embroidered panel.
