Intro
Start the day with a washing cup that brings color and craft to the ritual. This Netilat Yadayim cup is finished in deep navy enamel over a hammered gold base, with the blessing inscribed in gold across the front. The two-handle form makes the hand to hand pour easy, keeping the piece both practical and handsome on a bathroom shelf or bedside table. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish ritual objects for over two decades.
Build and Use
Used each morning and after rising for the ritual hand washing, the cup carries two handles to pass easily from one hand to the other. Made of metal, it is finished in navy enamel with a hammered gold band at the base and a gold inscription of the blessing text. The cup measures 4 x 4 x 5 inches, a comfortable size for everyday use at the sink or bedside.
Gift Ideas
The cup's rich enamel and gold detailing make it a fitting gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, especially for someone setting up their own Jewish home. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, marking the occasion with an object used daily. Its blend of color and function makes it a welcome gift well beyond those moments too.
Care Instructions
Wipe the enamel surface clean with a soft, damp cloth rather than soaking it. Avoid abrasive cleaners or scouring pads, which can dull the enamel and gold finish, and dry the cup fully after use to keep its shine.
