Intro
Add a touch of heritage to your tallit with a bag embroidered in dense silver scrollwork across deep navy silk. Floral vines and medallions frame a central panel reading Aron Kodesh, bordered in the same intricate silverwork that surrounds it. The design draws on the ornamentation of Torah ark curtains, connecting the bag to centuries of synagogue textile tradition. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes and synagogues for over two decades.
Build and Use
Made of navy silk embroidered with silver thread, the bag is sized 14" x 12" to hold a folded tallit along with a siddur or kippah. A zipper closure keeps the contents secure, and the quilted backing gives the bag structure. The dense scrollwork pattern is machine embroidered, keeping the fine detail crisp and consistent.
Gift Ideas
The bag suits a bar mitzvah gift especially well, marking the milestone of a young man's first tallit. It also makes a fitting wedding or engagement gift, or a Rosh Hashanah and Yom Kippur gift for the High Holy Days. Anyone building or refreshing their Jewish home would appreciate its craftsmanship.
Care Instructions
Wipe the silk clean with a dry or slightly damp cloth rather than washing it. Store the bag flat or upright away from direct sunlight to keep the silver embroidery from dulling.
