Intro
Give a tallit its own home with a bag embroidered in the colors of Jerusalem. The frame of domes, palm trees, and stone buildings surrounds the word Tallit in gold, worked onto soft white silk. Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection, fitting for an object used week after week. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Made from silk and finished with machine embroidery, the bag keeps a tallit folded and protected between uses. It measures 14 by 12 inches, sized to hold a standard folded tallit. The embroidered panel sits atop plain silk, giving the piece a light, uncluttered look on top of a dresser or shelf.
Gift Ideas
A tallit bag makes a natural gift for a bar mitzvah, marking the start of a young man's own tallit and tefillin use. It suits a wedding as well, when a groom often receives his first tallit, and it works just as well as an anniversary or housewarming gift for someone building a Jewish home. The Jerusalem design gives it a personal, meaningful feel beyond the occasion itself.
Care Instructions
Spot clean the silk gently with a damp cloth rather than washing the whole bag. Keep it away from direct sun and moisture so the colors in the embroidery stay bright, and store it flat when not in use.
