Intro
Set the tone for your Seder with a matzah cover framed in a richly embroidered Jerusalem cityscape. Domes, towers, and stone facades are appliqued around the border in warm golds, oranges, and purples, with the word Pesach embroidered at the center. Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection, fitting for the holiday that recalls the return to the land. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Used at the Seder table to keep the three matzot until they're needed, the cover holds three separate inner compartments, one for each matzah. The Jerusalem border is appliqued in layered fabric pieces and finished with embroidery, while the background is left in soft, unadorned white. The cover measures 15.5" x 15.5", sized to sit comfortably at the center of the table.
Gift Ideas
An embroidered matzah cover makes a fitting gift ahead of Passover, especially for a couple setting up their first Seder table or a family building their Judaica collection. It also suits a wedding, housewarming, or engagement gift for anyone who marks the holiday. The Jerusalem motif gives it a lasting, meaningful quality beyond a single season.
Care Instructions
Hand wash the cover gently in cold water and lay it flat to dry, keeping the embroidered and appliqued areas away from wringing or scrubbing. Store it folded in a dry place between Passovers to keep the colors sharp.
