Intro

Bring a bright welcome into any room with this cutout metal hamsa, standing upright on its own base. Birds and butterflies wind through flowers around the word Shalom, lettered in Hebrew, English and Arabic, printed in Yair Emanuel's hand painted design. The hamsa itself is a longstanding symbol of protection, and paired with Shalom it becomes a wish for peace in the home. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Cut from metal and finished in vivid color, the hamsa stands about 9 inches tall, 7 inches wide and 2 inches deep on its attached base. The open cutout work lets birds, flowers and butterflies show through around the lettering. It sits freestanding, ready to display on a shelf, mantel or entryway table without any mounting.

Gift Ideas

The hamsa's blessing of peace suits a housewarming, a wedding, or a new home just as well as an engagement or anniversary. Its multilingual Shalom also makes it a fitting gift for someone who values shared, cross cultural meaning. It works well as a gift beyond these occasions too, wherever a bright welcome piece is wanted.

Care Instructions

Wipe the hamsa with a soft, dry cloth to keep the painted surface clean. Keep it away from moisture and abrasive cleaners so the colors stay vivid over time.
