Intro

Dress your Shabbat plata in color with a collage cover patched from purple floral and shimmering panels. A Lecha Dodi verse sits at the center, framed by a flowing blossom pattern that brings the feel of a garden in bloom to the kitchen. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has been part of Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from fabric patched into a collage of purple panels, the cover measures 31.5 by 26 inches. The size is cut to drape over the plata and the food keeping warm on it. A silvery center panel carries the Hebrew verse, with patterned and iridescent panels around it.

Gift Ideas

A plata cover makes a practical and handsome housewarming gift for anyone setting up a Jewish home. It suits a wedding or engagement, and it is a fitting anniversary present for a couple who host Shabbat each week. The purple colorway also works for a bar or bat mitzvah family or as a warm gift outside those occasions.

Care Instructions

Spot clean the cover gently with a damp cloth and let it air dry flat. Avoid soaking or machine washing so the colors and the shimmer of the fabric stay rich. Fold it loosely for storage to keep the panels smooth.
