Intro

Mark your doorway with a mezuzah case that brings color to daily life. This cylindrical case is finished in shaded blue anodized aluminum, banded with stripes of purple, teal, and pink, and set with a raised silver Shin. Traditionally affixed to the doorposts of a Jewish home to hold a scroll inscribed with the Shema, the case here is the vessel, not the parchment. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made of anodized aluminum, the case is built to take a 10 cm mezuzah scroll, sold separately. It measures about 0.5 by 6.5 inches, with a silver capped top and base bracketing the striped body. The cylinder opens along its length for easy placement of the scroll, then closes securely for mounting.

Gift Ideas

A mezuzah case suits a housewarming above almost any other gift, marking the doorway of a new home. It also fits a wedding, an engagement, or a bar or bat mitzvah, especially for someone setting up their first apartment. The bright banded color makes it a thoughtful pick even outside a specific occasion.

Care Instructions

Wipe the case with a soft, dry cloth to keep the anodized finish bright. Avoid abrasive cleaners or soaking it in water, since this can dull the color bands over time.
