Intro

Mark a doorpost with a mezuzah case that layers shades of blue in banded stripes, capped in silver at each end with a raised Shin at its center. The case protects the scroll placed within it, a longstanding fixture at the entrance to a Jewish home. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Formed from anodized aluminum in alternating bands of blue, the case measures about 1 by 7 inches and holds a scroll up to 4.7 inches long, sold separately. The cylindrical shape opens along its length to allow the scroll to be placed inside, and the metal finish resists fading and wear. A silver Shin sits at the front, marking the case for its purpose above the doorway.

Gift Ideas

A mezuzah case suits a housewarming above any other occasion, marking the start of a new home. It also makes a fitting gift for a wedding, an engagement, or a bar or bat mitzvah, and works well for anyone setting up a Jewish home for the first time. The layered blue finish gives it a modern look that suits most doorframes.

Care Instructions

Wipe the case with a soft, dry cloth to keep the finish clean. Avoid abrasive cleaners or soaking it in water, as these can dull the anodized surface.
