Intro
Add color to your daily ritual with this blue netilat yadayim cup, cast in gleaming anodized aluminum with a two handled form built for hand washing. The rounded body and pale handles give the piece a soft, polished look that suits any kitchen or bathroom counter. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose Judaica has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.
Build and Use
Used for netilat yadayim, the ritual washing performed before meals and upon waking, the cup is built with a handle on each side so water can be poured cleanly from one hand to the other. Formed from anodized aluminum, it carries a deep blue finish with a light, silvery rim on the handles. The cup measures 4" x 5" and weighs about 0.52 kg, sized for a comfortable grip and steady pour.
Gift Ideas
A washing cup like this makes a fitting housewarming gift for anyone setting up a Jewish home, and it suits a wedding or engagement gift just as well. It also works nicely for a bar or bat mitzvah, when a young person begins keeping more of the daily rituals themselves. The bright blue finish keeps it a welcome gift beyond those occasions too.
Care Instructions
Wipe the cup clean with a soft, damp cloth and dry it fully to keep the finish bright. Avoid abrasive scrubbers or harsh cleaners, which can dull the anodized surface.
