The cover rests over the bread between kiddush and the blessing, keeping it set apart until the meal begins. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Woven from a cotton and polyester blend, the cover carries a central band embroidered in silk thread rather than by hand. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, sized to drape comfortably over a standard challah board or two loaves. The tight weave gives the cover its structure and lets the embroidered lettering sit crisp against the fabric.

Gift Ideas

The cover's earthy palette and clean lettering make it a fitting wedding, housewarming, or engagement gift. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, especially for someone building a Jewish home. Its understated tones make it easy to give on its own or alongside a challah board or kiddush cup.

Care Instructions

Spot clean the cover with a damp cloth, or hand wash gently in cool water. Lay flat to dry and keep it away from direct heat to protect the silk embroidery.
