Woven bands of multicolor pattern frame a central panel embroidered in silk thread with the words for Shabbat and holidays. The collage of fabrics reflects the richness of the table it sits on, designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel. It matches the coordinating plata cover for a unified set.

Build and Use

Made from a cotton and polyester blend, the cover is embroidered in silk thread rather than by hand, giving the lettering a crisp, even finish. Patchwork panels of woven tapestry fabric are pieced together around a plain central field for the text. The cover measures 19.5 inches by 15.5 inches, sized to rest over a standard challah board or tray.

Gift Ideas

The bold patchwork design makes this a fitting gift for a housewarming, wedding, or engagement, especially paired with its matching plata cover. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, giving a couple or family a colorful new piece for their Shabbat table. Its warmth and pattern make it a welcome gift beyond those occasions too.

Care Instructions

Hand wash gently in cold water and lay flat to dry to protect the embroidery and fabric colors. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents, and iron on a low setting if needed, avoiding direct contact with the embroidered panel.
