The center panel reads "Shabbat V'Yom Tov" in silk thread embroidery, framed by richly patterned squares in shades of blue and purple. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades. The cover sets the challah apart during the blessing before the meal begins.

Build and Use

Made from a cotton and polyester blend, the cover is pieced in a fabric collage of floral and solid panels. The center inscription is embroidered in silk thread rather than by hand, giving the lettering a clean, consistent finish. The cover measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches and is designed to match the coordinating plata cover.

Gift Ideas

The rich purple palette and coordinated design make this a fitting gift for a housewarming, wedding, or bar or bat mitzvah. It suits anyone setting up a Jewish home for the first time, or a couple celebrating an anniversary. The matching plata cover makes it easy to gift the pair together as a complete Shabbat set.

Care Instructions

Spot clean the cover as needed with a damp cloth, or hand wash gently in cold water. Lay flat to dry and avoid wringing, which can distort the embroidered panel.
