At its center, the words Shabbat V'Yom Tov are embroidered in silk thread against a clean white ground. The layered panels bring a woven, tribal texture that pairs naturally with the matching plata cover. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from a cotton and polyester blend, the cover is pieced from solid navy silk panels and a diamond patterned woven trim, with the center text embroidered in silk thread rather than by hand. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, sized to rest over a standard challah for the Shabbat and Yom Tov table. The piece is designed to match the coordinating plata cover for a unified table setting.

Gift Ideas

The cover makes a fitting wedding or housewarming gift, especially for someone furnishing their first Shabbat table. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah, an engagement, or an anniversary. Paired with its matching plata cover, it works well as a coordinated set for a couple building a Jewish home.

Care Instructions

Spot clean the cover with a damp cloth rather than machine washing, to protect the silk panels and embroidery. Keep it away from direct heat and store it flat when not in use.
