A pomegranate vine, embroidered in silk thread, frames the Hebrew words "Shabbat V'Yom Tov" at its center, the fruit standing for blessing and abundance. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from a cotton and polyester blend, the cover is embroidered in silk thread rather than by hand, giving the pomegranate motif a clean, consistent finish. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches and is sized to drape over a challah for Shabbat and Yom Tov. It also matches Yair Emanuel's plata cover for a coordinated table setting.

Gift Ideas

The patchwork design and rich color make this challah cover a fitting gift for a housewarming, wedding, or engagement. It suits a bar or bat mitzvah or anniversary as well, especially for someone furnishing a Jewish home. Paired with the matching plata cover, it also makes a thoughtful set gift.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover gently in cold water and lay it flat to dry to protect the silk thread embroidery. Avoid bleach and harsh detergents, and iron on a low setting if needed, avoiding direct contact with the embroidered panel.
