The challah stays covered on the table during kiddush, and this cover carries the words Shabbat V'Yom Tov stitched in silver thread among the pomegranate vines. Long a symbol of blessing and abundance, the pomegranate motif suits the table where each week begins. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has graced Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from a durable cotton and polyester blend, the cover is finished with silk embroidery in silver thread across its cream surface. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, sized to sit comfortably over a standard Shabbat challah. The embroidered Hebrew text and pomegranate vines run along the border and center of the cloth.

Gift Ideas

The pomegranate motif and silver embroidery make this cover a fitting gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah, an anniversary, or a gift for someone building a Jewish home. Its cream and silver palette works well for a couple furnishing their first Shabbat table.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover gently in cold water or dry clean to protect the silk embroidery.
