The pomegranate has long stood for blessing and abundance, a fitting motif for the table where the week begins anew. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Woven from a cotton and polyester blend and embroidered in silk thread, the cover is machine embroidered rather than done by hand. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, generous enough to drape fully over a pair of challot. The dark navy ground sets off the red, green, and gold threadwork used for the pomegranate border.

Gift Ideas

The cover makes a thoughtful gift for a wedding, engagement, or housewarming, especially for a couple setting up their first Jewish home. It also suits a bar or bat mitzvah or an anniversary, marking the occasion with something used at the table each week. Its rich color and detailed embroidery give it lasting appeal beyond any single occasion.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover gently in cold water or dry clean to protect the silk thread embroidery. Avoid wringing or harsh detergents, and lay it flat to dry to keep the fabric and stitching in good shape.
