The challah stays covered on the table during kiddush, and this cover marks that moment with towers, domes, and rooftops rendered in warm, varied thread colors on a plain cream ground. The Jerusalem imagery speaks to heritage and connection, framing the embroidered words Shabbat V'Yom Tov at the center. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish tables for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made from a durable cotton and polyester blend, the cover is finished with silk embroidery along its border and script. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, sized to rest over a standard challah tray or plate. The Jerusalem skyline runs the full frame while the center stays clean and open around the Hebrew lettering.

Gift Ideas

The Jerusalem design suits a housewarming gift for anyone setting up a Jewish home, and it works just as well for a wedding, engagement, or bar or bat mitzvah. Its detailed embroidery also makes it a fitting anniversary gift for someone who values Judaica with lasting craftsmanship. Beyond these occasions, it's a warm choice for anyone who keeps a Shabbat table.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover in cool water or dry clean to protect the silk embroidery. Lay it flat to dry and avoid wringing or bleach so the thread colors stay bright.
