The pomegranates carry their familiar meaning of blessing and abundance, while the doves rest calmly among the leaves, adding a gentle, peaceful note to the design. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has furnished Seder tables for over two decades.

Build and Use

Used at the Seder to hold the three matzot, the cover is appliqued by hand in raw silk with layered fabric shapes forming the birds, branches, and fruit. Three separate compartments inside keep each matzah in its own place through the meal. The cover measures 15.75 by 15.75 inches, sized for a standard stack of three matzot.

Gift Ideas

An appliqued matzah cover like this suits a housewarming gift for a new home, a wedding gift for a couple starting their own Seder traditions, or a gift for a family building their Passover table. It works equally well as a bar or bat mitzvah gift for someone taking on more of the holiday's preparations. Its detailed design makes it a piece worth giving well beyond the holiday season.

Care Instructions

Hand wash gently in cold water or dry clean to protect the appliqued silk and stitching. Lay flat to dry and store folded away from direct sunlight to keep the colors from fading.
