Cut fabric shapes form the domed rooftops and stone courtyards of Jerusalem across a raw silk ground, with embroidered stems and outlines tracing the scene and the words Shabbat V'Yom Tov embroidered across the top. Jerusalem imagery carries a sense of heritage and connection wherever it is displayed. Designed by Jerusalem artist Yair Emanuel, whose work has shaped Jewish homes for over two decades.

Build and Use

Made of raw silk, the cover is built with appliqued fabric shapes stitched onto the silk ground, finished with embroidered outlines, stems, and lettering. It measures 19.5 by 15.5 inches, sized to drape over a standard challah loaf or two. The embroidered words Shabbat V'Yom Tov sit along the top edge of the design.

Gift Ideas

The cover suits a wedding, an engagement, or a housewarming, especially for someone furnishing a new Jewish home. It also fits a bar or bat mitzvah gift or an anniversary, where a piece for the Shabbat table carries lasting meaning. Its Jerusalem design gives it a broader appeal for anyone drawn to the city's imagery.

Care Instructions

Hand wash the cover gently in cool water and lay it flat to dry, keeping the silk away from direct heat. Avoid wringing or harsh detergents so the appliqued shapes and embroidery hold their shape and color.
